These few weeks have been a point of transition. On Saturday, my husband and I celebrated our graduations. Although both of us finished our degrees nearly a year earlier (mine for Library Science and his doctorate in Food Science), it was the first occasion for both of our families to get together and celebrate since our wedding two years ago.
Several exciting new developments have also developed leading up to this point. I have been offered a temporary archivist position in the Music Division of the Library of Congress, and both of us have been offered positions afterwards in Michigan. We are overjoyed by these opportunities and look forward to what they hold.
On Monday will be my last recital with my students. Leaving Urbana-Champaign, with all it’s music and memories, will be difficult for both of us. This area has provided us both with life-changing educational and professional opportunities which we are sad to leave, but we are excited for the new opportunities ahead.
